Little Bird is a standalone Limited Series designed as a completed, finite historical narrative. This Crave and APTN original production was meticulously crafted to address the harrowing legacy of the Sixties Scoop in Canada through the personal journey of Esther Rosenblum. The production involved extensive collaboration with Indigenous creators and advisors to ensure cultural authenticity and sensitivity while depicting the systemic removal of children from their families. By focusing on a specific, emotionally resonant arc of reclamation and identity, the creators established a narrative boundary that concludes with the protagonist search for her origins.

The series was envisioned from its inception as a finite exploration of a dark chapter in North American history, utilizing a six-episode structure to maintain a tight focus on the emotional stakes of its characters. Rather than building a world for multi-season expansion, the production focused on the high-quality realization of a singular, impactful story that serves as both a historical record and a piece of dramatic art. This approach allowed the creative team to deliver a definitive resolution that honors the real-life experiences of survivors without the need for further seasonal installments.
