Import TV Time Watched History to Series Reminder

As of July 15, 2026, TV Time has officially shut down, leaving millions of TV tracking fans without a home. It hard to think that years of tracked watch history, custom lists, and community milestones could just vanish overnight. But if you managed to request and download your official GDPR data export before the servers went dark I have great news: your watch history is safe, and you can import it right here!

If you got your export ZIP file, Series Reminder is ready to act as your new tracking and notification service. You can pick up right where you left off without missing a single upcoming episode.

The Fully Automated TV Time Importer

To make your transition as seamless as possible, I built a fully automated TV Time Importer. Because TV Time's data export structure is complex, I engineered the import process to extract your watch history, favorites, and archive statuses directly from your untouched ZIP file.

How to Import Your TV Time Data (Step-by-Step)

The migration process is incredibly straightforward:

  1. Locate Your Export File: Find the data export file you downloaded from TV Time before the shutdown. This is typically a zipped archive named gdpr-data.zip. Do not unzip or modify the files inside; the import process works best when the archive is completely untouched.
  2. Navigate to the Importer: Head over to the TV Time Import Tool (you will need a free Series Reminder account to access this).
  3. Upload Your ZIP File: Select your gdpr-data.zip archive and click upload.
  4. Let It Process: Your import will run safely in the background. It usually takes between a few minutes to map thousands of episodes. You can safely navigate away from the page, and I will email you the moment your dashboard is ready!

What Exactly Will Be Restored?

My automated parser reads the core data tables inside your TV Time export folder:

  • Your Watchlist: All of your active shows will be automatically added to your Series Reminder favorites list. By default, newly imported active shows will have "Season Premiere" notifications enabled so you don't miss upcoming releases.
  • Your Archive: I respect your TV Time "Archived" flags. Shows you finished or dropped will be imported to preserve your lifetime watch stats, but I will mark them as archived to keep your active daily calendar free from clutter.
  • Every Watched Episode: Your full historical timeline of watched episodes will be completely synchronized. If you have already started tracking shows on Series Reminder, don't worry—the import is additive and will never overwrite or erase your current progress.

A Special Note on Free Tier Limits: To ensure you don't lose your TV Time legacy, I will import your entire watch history and favorites list for free, regardless of my standard free-tier limits. You will only need to upgrade to a Premium Subscription if you wish to manually track brand-new shows beyond the free limit once your import is complete.

Welcome to Your New Tracking Home

I built Series Reminder because I wanted a lightweight, clean, and blazing-fast TV tracker that was free of invasive corporate ads, bloated social networks, or unstable platforms. Beyond core tracking, you'll immediately gain access to features like:

  • A clean, visual dashboard calendar showing exactly when and where your favorite shows air.
  • Personal RSS Feeds and iCal calendar integration so you can sync episodes straight to your planner.
  • Real-time notification channels including Email, Discord Webhooks, and Pushover alert configurations.
