Import TV Time Watched History to Series Reminder

As of July 15, 2026, TV Time has officially shut down. The app was removed from mobile stores, the servers went offline, and years of tracked watch history, reviews, and community milestones were erased. For TV fans who spent a decade logging their viewing habits, losing that data is a massive blow.

However, if you requested and downloaded your official GDPR data export from TV Time before the deadline, your watch history is safe. Your downloaded archive contains all of your raw tracking data, and Series Reminder is here to act as your new subscription command center by bringing that history back to life.

The Concierge TV Time Importer

Because TV Time's data export structure is highly complex—splitting your history, favorites, and timeline across multiple separated CSV files within a single archive—an automatic importer can easily skip episodes or mismatch shows. To make sure your data is processed with extreme care, I have set up a Concierge TV Time Importer.

As a solo software engineer running this platform, I will manually parse and load your export files for you during this transition. This personal approach ensures your watch history maps to our system, while allowing me to gather real-world sample formats to build a robust, automated importer for the community in the future. It is a win-win: your history gets completely restored, and you help shape our automated import tools!

How to Import Your TV Time Data (Step-by-Step)

The migration process is incredibly straightforward, and I will handle all the hard work:

  1. Locate Your Export File: Find the data export file you downloaded from TV Time before the shutdown. This is typically a zipped archive named gdpr-data.zip. Do not unzip or modify the files inside; our parser works best when the archive is completely untouched.
  2. Upload the Archive: Head over to our Import Page, scroll down to the TV Time section, and click Read More to access the secure upload utility.
  3. Upload Your ZIP File: Select your gdpr-data.zip archive and click upload.
  4. Let Me Process It: The platform will securely save your archive and notify me directly. I will manually run our parsing scripts on your file to map your shows and episodes to our database. Once the import is complete, I will email you immediately to let you know your dashboard is ready!

What Exactly Will Be Restored?

Our manual parser reads the core data tables inside your TV Time export folder:

  • Your Watchlist: Any valid series found in your export that maps to The TVDB database will be automatically added to your Series Reminder favorites list. By default, newly imported shows will have "Season Premiere" notifications enabled so you don't miss upcoming releases.
  • Every Watched Episode: Your full historical timeline of watched episodes will be completely synchronized. If you have already started tracking shows on Series Reminder, don't worry—the import is additive and will never overwrite or erase your current progress.

Note on Account Limits: Free tier accounts on Series Reminder can import and track up to our limit of 10 favorite series. If your TV Time export contains more than 10 shows, you can sign up for a Premium Subscription to import your entire unlimited library and unlock advanced timezone scheduling.

Welcome to Your New Tracking Home

I built Series Reminder because I wanted a lightweight, clean, and blazing-fast TV tracker that was free of invasive corporate ads, bloated social networks, or unstable platforms. Beyond core tracking, you'll immediately gain access to features like:

  • A clean, visual dashboard calendar showing exactly when and where your favorite shows air.
  • 100% Free personal iCal and RSS calendar integration so you can sync episodes straight to your planner. (Learn about iCal Feeds)
  • Real-time notification channels including Email, Discord Webhooks, and Pushover alert configurations.
