Track your TV watching history

Series Reminder allows you to track every single episode you watch for any series on your watchlist. There is no limit to the number of watched episodes you can log. Free tier users can track their full history for up to 10 favorite series, while Premium users can track history across an unlimited watchlist.

Please note that your watch history is tied directly to your watchlist. Removing a series from your favorites list will also delete all of its logged watched history and clear your custom notification settings for that show.

The Power of a Clean Watch History

Logging your watch history is what transforms Series Reminder into your personal subscription command center. By keeping an active log of your progress, you unlock powerful dashboard capabilities:

  • Calendar Filtering: Instantly filter out and hide episodes you have already watched from your dashboard and monthly calendars. When looking for something to watch, you can scroll back through the calendar to easily spot shows or episodes you missed.
  • Smart Network Subscriptions: Easily identify which streaming networks hold the highest volume of your unwatched content. This makes it simple to decide which streaming platform is actually worth subscribing to this month, and which ones you can safely pause.
  • Advanced Viewing Metrics: See highly detailed, analytical charts of your TV-watching patterns over years and decades on our Advanced Stats page.

Understanding the Watched Percentage

On the series detail page, near the poster image, you will find your Watched Percentage. This is calculated simply by dividing the number of episodes you have marked as watched by the total number of episodes released for that series. This calculation excludes "Season 0" Special episodes, but does include scheduled episodes that do not yet have a confirmed air date.

How to Log Your History on the Episode List

We provide several flexible ways to update your watch history on a show's details page:

  • Individual Episodes: Toggle any single episode's watched state by clicking the checkbox next to its title.
  • "I'm Caught Up!": This link sits directly under the Watched Percentage on the show page. Clicking it will instantly mark the entire series as watched up to today's date, automatically ignoring any episodes scheduled to air in the future or those without confirmed air dates.
  • Bulk Series Toggles: At the bottom of the episode list on the right side, you will find links to mark the entire series as watched or unwatched. Setting a series as watched will only apply to episodes with an aired date in the past.
  • Bulk Season Toggles: At the bottom of the episode list on the left side, you can toggle an entire season as watched or unwatched. This action targets the specific season selected in your dropdown menu.

Automated Ways to Track

You don't always have to log your episodes manually. You can automate your watch history using our advanced integrations:

  • Plex Webhook Integration: If you manage your own media server, you can configure Plex Scrobbling. This automatically marks TV episodes as watched in Series Reminder the moment you stream at least 70% of the video on Plex.
  • Data Migration: If you are moving from another tracking platform, you can bring your existing history over via our Data Import Hub.
