Personal iCal Feed

Series Reminder is designed to act as your ultimate subscription command center. With shows scattered across a dozen networks, our goal is to help you track exactly when your favorite series are airing so you only subscribe to the services you actually need this month. To support this mission, the Personal iCal Calendar Feed integration is included in the Free Tier.

By using the calendar integration, you can sync your personal watchlist directly to your daily digital planner. This feature is free to use for any shows added to your favorites list (up to your account's maximum favorite limit).

Calendar Updates and Server Etiquette

To keep your calendar updated with the most recent episodes, you will use the automatic synchronization feature in your chosen calendar app. Once configured, your app will automatically request schedule updates from Series Reminder in the background.

A Quick Note on Sync Settings: Because I run Series Reminder as a solo developer and manage all the infrastructure costs myself, I ask that you please do not configure your calendar client to sync more frequently than every 12 hours.

Note for Google Calendar users: Google does not enable automatic third-party calendar syncing by default. Please make sure to follow Step 3 in the setup guide below to ensure your schedule refreshes properly.

Supported Calendar Systems

Series Reminder outputs calendar files compliant with the standard iCalendar specification outlined on icalendar.org. Any modern digital calendar system that supports this global format will work, including:

  • Apple Calendar (iOS and macOS)
  • Google Calendar (Web and mobile)
  • Microsoft Outlook

Setup Google Calendar Sync (Step-by-Step)

  1. Log in and copy your unique calendar feed URL from our dedicated iCal Feed Integration page.
  2. Open Google Calendar on your browser, click the Settings gear icon, select the Add Calendar menu, and click From URL. Alternatively, you can navigate directly to Google's Add Calendar URL utility.
  3. Critical Step: To ensure Google actually auto-refreshes your feed, you must also enable synchronization settings at this specific page: Google Calendar Sync Select. Without toggling your newly added calendar on this settings screen, automatic background updates may fail to work.
