Win or Lose is a standalone Limited Series that concluded its 8-episode run in February 2025. As Pixar Animation Studios' first foray into long-form episodic storytelling, the production represents a massive creative undertaking that utilizes distinct visual styles for every episode. Each segment is filtered through the unique emotional perspective of a different character, ranging from players to parents to the umpire, all converging on a single championship softball game. This ambitious structure allowed the filmmakers to explore a variety of animation techniques and narrative tones that would be impossible to contain within a standard feature film format.

The series was designed with a definitive conclusion because its narrative arc is inextricably linked to the countdown toward the final game of the season.
