What's in the Series Reminder Newsletter?

Because Series Reminder is built and run by a solo software engineer, I treat communication differently than giant corporate platforms. You won't find spam, clickbait recommendations, or aggressive affiliate marketing in your inbox. Below is a complete, transparent guide to exactly how, why, and when I will email you.

Direct Newsletters from the Developer

The primary purpose of our newsletter is to maintain a direct line of communication between you and me. When I release major new features—such as our recent TV Time importer or upcoming custom timezone notification updates—I send out a brief newsletter to explain how they work.

I also use the newsletter to discuss product changes. Because this platform needs to pay for its own servers and development to stay alive, I will occasionally communicate open updates about the business side of Series Reminder, such as adjusting favorites limits or updating subscription tiers. You can expect to receive these developer updates about once or twice a month.

The Email Privacy Promise

Your email address is strictly used to run your account. Series Reminder does not sell, trade, or share your contact details with third parties, advertisers, or lists. Period.

Managing Your Preferences: Two Separate Email Settings

To give you total control over your inbox, Series Reminder splits your incoming emails into two entirely separate settings. You can manage and toggle each of these independently on your Account Preferences page:

  • Developer Newsletter: Located under your profile's email configuration section, this toggle controls direct, personal updates from me. Turning this off stops general platform announcements, surveys, and roadmap updates.
  • Email Series Notifications: Located under your notification preferences, this toggle controls your automated daily TV alerts. Toggling this off stops all automated morning emails listing upcoming episodes from your watchlist.

Note: Disabling your automated daily emails only stops email-based delivery. You can safely turn email notifications off and continue tracking your favorites using our other free channels, such as your iCal feed, personal RSS feed, Discord webhooks, or Pushover mobile alerts.

If you ever have feedback about our email frequency or want to request a feature, please feel free to contact me. I read and reply to every user message!
