Production Note - Limited Series

Captains of the World is a standalone Limited Docuseries that concluded its 6-episode run in December 2023. The production was a massive undertaking, serving as a direct follow-up to the series Captains, which tracked players through the qualifying stages of the tournament. This specific iteration focused exclusively on the high-stakes environment of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, capturing behind-the-scenes footage of icons like Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Because the series was built to document a specific historical sporting event, the narrative reached a natural and definitive conclusion with the crowning of the world champion.

The scale of the production involved unprecedented access to locker rooms and private team moments, provided through a partnership between FIFA and Fulwell 73. Unlike a traditional scripted series that might seek renewal, this project was designed as a definitive time capsule of a singular global event. The logistical complexity of filming across multiple national teams simultaneously ensured that the story was a self-contained chronicle of the tournament journey from the opening matches to the final trophy presentation.
