Frequently Asked Questions
NCIS: Tony and Ziva is an action-drama spin-off of the long-running procedural franchise NCIS, focusing on fan-favorite characters Anthony DiNozzo and Ziva David. The series was produced specifically as a streaming original for Paramount+.
The spin-off was greenlit and produced as a 10-episode first season set and filmed across Europe. It was designed as a tightly serialized limited run revolving around Tony, Ziva, and their daughter Tali on the run.
The series was structured from its inception as an event-driven serialized expansion rather than an open-ended broadcast procedural. Any conclusion of the initial storyline was designed to provide closure to the long-standing international saga surrounding Tony and Ziva's family.
The show is directly connected to the parent series NCIS, which itself originated from JAG. It shares continuity with other franchise entries such as NCIS: Origins, NCIS: Los Angeles, NCIS: New Orleans, NCIS: Hawai'i, and NCIS: Sydney.
Future installments depend on franchise strategy and streaming viewership metrics on Paramount+. As of its inaugural run, producers and stars Michael Weatherly and Cote de Pablo have expressed interest in continuing the characters' adventures if narrative and production conditions permit.
