Production Note - Limited Series

Production Type: Limited Series

The Price of Glee is a standalone Limited Series designed as a completed, finite historical narrative. Produced by Ample Entertainment for Investigation Discovery, this three-part documentary project was commissioned to provide a comprehensive retrospective on the cultural phenomenon and subsequent tragedies surrounding the musical dramedy Glee. The production scale focused on gathering firsthand accounts from crew members, journalists, and relatives of the deceased cast members to construct a singular, exhaustive account of the show's dark legacy.

The series was structured as a closed-ended investigation rather than an ongoing news program or multi-season franchise. By concentrating the narrative into three specific thematic chapters, the producers ensured the story reached a definitive conclusion that addressed the rise and fall of the production without the need for future installments. This finite approach allowed the network to market the show as a prestige television event with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
