The Industry Oracle - Prestige Tentpole
Oracle Status: Pre-Production Season 2
Studio Bones has officially greenlit Season 2 following the explosive conclusion of the two-cour debut run. The dark fantasy adaptation of Hiromu Arakawa’s bestselling manga closed its 24-episode maiden broadcast in late September 2026, leaving Yuru and Asa’s fractured supernatural destiny hanging on a gripping cliffhanger. Masahiro Ando’s dynamic direction delivered commercial clout and critical prestige, guaranteeing that the dual-daemon battles will march forward.
Behind closed doors, the creative team has begun early pre-production, though production pacing must balance the Monthly Shōnen Gangan serialization. Because the television run rapidly consumed available manga chapters, the animation pipeline requires time for source material accumulation. Expect careful storyboarding through 2027 before the next chapter unleashes its ancient power.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, Daemons of the Shadow Realm was officially greenlit for Season 2 immediately following the Season 1 finale in September 2026. Production companies Bones Film and Square Enix confirmed the renewal alongside a teaser visual and announcement video.
The second season is currently in early pre-production at Bones Film under returning director Masahiro Ando. The creative team is outlining series composition and storyboards to map out the next story arc.
Pacing depends directly on the monthly release schedule of Hiromu Arakawa's source manga in Monthly Shonen Gangan. Because the first 24-episode season adapted a substantial portion of existing material, the studio must allow the published chapters to build a sufficient backlog to avoid non-canonical filler.
No canonical spin-offs, prequels, or theatrical side stories are currently in development. Production efforts remain entirely concentrated on adapting the core storyline of Arakawa's central manga series.
The television anime is animated by Bones Film and broadcasts domestically in Japan on networks including Tokyo MX and BS11. International distribution and simulcast rights are managed by Crunchyroll.
An exact premiere date has not yet been announced by Tokyo MX or the production committee. Industry production cycles and manga chapter stockpiling suggest late 2027 or 2028 as the most viable broadcast window.
