Frequently Asked Questions
The Boroughs was ordered by Netflix as an eight-episode limited supernatural drama series. Its entire narrative arc was designed and produced within this single-season, eight-episode framework.
Created by Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews with executive producers the Duffer Brothers, the series centers on an unlikely group of heroes in a retirement community in the New Mexico desert. Together, they band together to stop an unearthly threat from stealing the one thing they have in short supply: time.
The series was conceived and commissioned as a self-contained limited series with a definitive conclusion rather than an ongoing multi-season broadcast. It concluded because the core narrative arc conceived by the showrunners reached its natural end.
There are no official spin-offs, prequels, or feature film tie-ins associated with The Boroughs. The story exists entirely within the confines of the original eight-episode production on Netflix.
No credible reports, official announcements, or production plans exist regarding a revival or reboot of the series. The project was intended as a closed-ended story, and Netflix has maintained its status as a completed standalone property.
