Production Note - Limited Series

The Burning Girls is a standalone Limited Series that concluded its 6-episode run in October 2023. Developed by Hans Rosenfeldt and based on the novel by C.J. Tudor, the production was conceived as a self-contained psychological thriller. The narrative follows a vicar and her daughter who move to a remote village haunted by a dark history, meticulously unravelling a mystery that spans centuries. Because the series adapts the complete arc of the source material, the production team prioritized a definitive resolution to the central conspiracy rather than building a multi-season framework.

The production scale focused on atmospheric world-building within the village of Chapel Croft, utilizing a six-hour format to explore the complex backstories of its residents. While some streaming properties attempt to extend popular titles, the creative direction for this project remained strictly tied to the literary resolution of the original book. This approach ensured that the character arcs for Reverend Jack Brooks and her daughter reached their natural conclusion, leaving no narrative threads open for future installments.
