Series Reminder is designed to act as your personal TV release command center. As an independent developer, I built this platform to put you in complete control of exactly how, when, and where you receive your schedule alerts. Whether you want to know the second an episode drops so you can avoid spoilers, or prefer to wait until a full season is ready to binge, the notification engine can be tailored to match your personal viewing habits.
The Four Core Notification Types
You can configure individual notification settings for each show on your favorites list. Series Reminder features four distinct toggles:
- Season Premiere: Receive a single alert only when the first episode of a new season airs. This is perfect for keeping tabs on shows you aren't following week-to-week, giving you a low-noise reminder that a series has returned so you can jump back in or activate that streaming subscription.
- All Episodes: Receive an alert for every single regular episode that airs. This is the go-to setting for ongoing shows you follow week-to-week. (Note: Standard episode alerts do not include specials.)
- Season Finale: Receive an alert only when the final episode of a season airs. This is the ideal setting for shows you prefer to binge-watch once the entire season is available in full.
- Special Episodes (Season 0): Special episodes, like holiday releases, behind-the-scenes documentaries, or retrospective interviews, are treated as an independent category. Because specials often release randomly throughout the year, you can toggle Special notifications on or off independently. Toggling "All Episodes" on will not include specials unless you also explicitly check this box.
Consolidated Messaging (Aggregated by Series)
If a show releases multiple episodes on the same day, or drops a special alongside a regular episode, Series Reminder automatically consolidates them. Instead of receiving multiple separate alerts for the same show, all episodes for that series on that day are grouped into a single, clean notification.
Global Timezone & Custom Delivery Times
All users can configure their timezone and choose their preferred daily delivery hour in their Account Preferences. Whether you want your daily notifications delivered to your inbox at 7:00 AM, 3:00 PM, or 10:00 PM, the scheduling engine holds your alerts and dispatches them at the exact time you prefer in your local timezone.
Per-Series Delivery Offsets and Custom Hours (Supporter Feature)
With television scattered across cable and competing streaming services, the actual broadcast air date is often different from when you actually have access to watch it. This is what I call the offset problem.
For example, a show might air on cable on Friday nights, but streaming subscribers might not get access until days later. Similarly, international release windows often cause delays. A show might air in the US on a Sunday, but not premiere on your regional service in the UK, Europe, or Australia until days or weeks later.
To solve this, users with a Supporter Subscription ($20/year) gain access to advanced per-series timing controls:
- Custom Delivery Hour: Set a specific delivery time for an individual show (e.g., alert me about House of the Dragon at exactly 8:00 PM on Sunday nights so it aligns with my evening viewing routine).
- Custom Delivery Day Offset: Delay notifications for a specific show by a set number of days (up to 14 days). If your streaming service drops an episode 7 days after its cable broadcast, or if your local release schedule is delayed, set an offset so you only get notified when the episode is actually playable on your screen.
Supported Notification Channels
Once you configure your timing and toggles, you can choose how your alerts are delivered. Free accounts can track up to 25 favorite shows across all available notification channels:
Email Alerts: Clean, reliable daily digests delivered directly to your inbox.
Discord Webhooks: Pipe TV alerts directly into a custom channel on your private Discord server. (Discord Setup Guide)
Pushover Mobile Alerts: Receive instant push notifications straight to your phone. (Pushover Setup Guide)
Personal iCal Calendars: Sync your release schedule straight into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, or Outlook. (iCal Setup Guide)
