The Industry Oracle - Prestige Tentpole
Oracle Status: Season 1 Concluded
The clash between modern martial supremacy and legendary feudal swordsmanship reached its thrilling conclusion with the two-part rollout of BAKI-DOU: The Invincible Samurai. Directed by Toshiki Hirano at TMS Entertainment, the anime thrust Baki Hanma into the crosshairs of cloned samurai legend Musashi Miyamoto. Following the high-stakes premiere of Part 1 in February 2026, Part 2 dropped on Netflix in June 2026, delivering the bloody, philosophically unhinged finale of the 22-volume Musashi arc.
With the Invincible Samurai storyline fully realized and wrapping its Japanese linear broadcasts, the production machine sits at a natural resting point. As the franchise eyes Keisuke Itagaki's subsequent sumo wrestling saga, fans await the next tournament ring.

Frequently Asked Questions
TMS Entertainment and Netflix have officially confirmed the continuation of the series following the successful launch of the first season. Production is currently underway to adapt the remaining chapters of the Musashi Miyamoto resurrection arc.
The series is currently in the active animation phase, with the storyboard and voice recording stages largely completed. Fans can expect the post-production and VFX work to finalize over the coming months for a targeted release window.
The delay is primarily due to the intricate hand-drawn animation required to capture Keisuke Itagaki's unique and highly detailed anatomical art style. Additionally, Netflix often waits for a full batch of episodes to be completed for a global simultaneous release rather than airing weekly.
While the focus remains on the main Baki-Dou storyline, there are ongoing discussions regarding an adaptation of the Baki Gaiden: Scarface series. These spin-offs are designed to expand the lore of side characters like Kaoru Hanayama while the main series is in production.
The production plan for the Invincible Samurai series is set to cover the full confrontation between the modern fighters and the resurrected legendary swordsman. This ensures that the narrative concludes the specific Musashi saga before moving into the Sumo-focused sequel.
The series is a Netflix Original and remains exclusive to their streaming platform globally. New seasons and parts are added to the library as soon as the localization and dubbing processes are finished for international audiences.
