Production Note - Limited Series

Production Type: Miniseries

Business Proposal is a standalone Miniseries designed as a completed, finite historical narrative. The production was developed as a faithful adaptation of its digital source material, specifically structured to cover the romantic arc of its lead characters within a single twelve-episode season. This compact format allowed the creators to maintain high production values and a brisk comedic pace without the need for filler content or seasonal extensions.

The decision to conclude the series after its initial run was a creative choice aimed at preserving the integrity of the original webtoon story. By focusing on a definitive resolution for both the primary and secondary couples, the show runners ensured that the narrative remained a self-contained experience. This finite structure is typical of the K-drama industry, where stories are often conceived as complete artistic statements rather than multi-year franchises.

Production Trivia: Business Proposal is a South Korean television production based on the popular webtoon of the same name written by HaeHwa and illustrated by Narak.

The series is not based on a true story but is an adaptation of a popular web novel titled The Office Blind Date by HaeHwa. It was also famously serialized as a webtoon before being developed into the live-action K-drama.

The show was primarily filmed in South Korea, featuring various locations around Seoul and Gyeonggi-do. Notable spots include the Yonsei University campus and various themed cafes that served as backdrops for the characters' dates.

Business Proposal consists of a total of 12 episodes. Unlike many traditional K-dramas that run for 16 episodes, this series opted for a shorter, fast-paced format to tell its romantic comedy story.

The series stars Ahn Hyo-seop as the CEO Kang Tae-moo and Kim Se-jeong as the researcher Shin Ha-ri. They are supported by second leads Kim Min-kyu and Seol In-ah, who play the show's secondary romantic couple.

Yes, Business Proposal is available for international streaming on Netflix in most regions. It became a global hit on the platform, frequently appearing in the Top 10 non-English TV show charts during its release.
