ITV treated the project as a major event drama, opting for a stripped scheduling format where the entire series aired over four consecutive nights to maximize the psychological impact of its twists and turns.

The story was purposefully designed with a definitive conclusion that resolves the central mystery and the legal entanglements of its protagonists. Because the narrative arc follows the source material to its finality, there were no creative intentions to extend the series beyond its original run.
