Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, SYFY officially renewed The Ark for a third season in March 2025. Co-showrunners Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner returned to continue the interstellar mission of Ark One.

The third season premiered on SYFY on July 29, 2026. Filming and post-production concluded in early 2026 at PFI Studios in Belgrade, Serbia, ahead of its summer broadcast window.

The roughly two-year wait between seasons stemmed from broader cable network restructuring, including NBCUniversal spinning off several cable properties, alongside scheduling alignment at SYFY. In addition, extensive digital VFX work and international studio coordination in Serbia required a longer turnaround before broadcast.

No spin-offs or canonical franchise expansions are currently in development for The Ark. Creative teams at Electric Entertainment and Balkanic Media remain entirely focused on the flagship narrative following Ark One and the colonization arcs.

The series is produced on soundstages at PFI Studios located in Belgrade, Serbia. This international hub houses the production's intricate spacecraft sets, green screen stages, and collaborative teams from Balkanic Media and Electric Entertainment.

The series is executive produced and run by Dean Devlin and Jonathan Glassner. The core cast includes Christie Burke as Lt. Sharon Garnet, Richard Fleeshman as Lt. James Brice, and Reece Ritchie alongside Stacey Read and Ryan Adams.
