Series Analysis:
In an alternate version of Meiji-era Japan, Western culture is rapidly being introduced, creating a clash between the new and the old. In this world, humans coexist with spirits, known as yokai. To handle the rising conflicts between the two groups, the government forms the Ministry of Spirit Affairs. This special unit partners fierce, half-spirit girls with handsome, young male army lieutenants. The story focuses on Zakuro, a strong-willed fox-spirit girl who dislikes Western customs. She is partnered with Kei Agemaki, a soldier who is ironically terrified of spirits. Together, they must overcome their differences to solve yokai-related incidents while navigating their budding romance.
