Join us on a summer trip along the Göta Canal, the tourist magnet that has run like a pulse through Sweden for 180 years. Almost all Swedes have a relationship with the canal, which is visited annually by three million people. If you have not visited it, you may have seen the Göta Kanal films. At the inauguration in 1832, the canal was called the world's eighth wonder, but today it is jokingly called the divorce soda in folklore. Following the life of the people along the popular tourist magnet is like making a cross-section of the summer Swede. Here we meet the boat people and the people who make the locks work.
