Angel From Hell

Premiering in early 2016, Angel From Hell served as a high-concept vehicle for Jane Lynch’s signature brand of chaotic comedy. The series centered on Allison, a perfectionist dermatologist whose structured life is upended by Amy, a brassy, unconventional woman claiming to be her guardian angel. While the show leaned into the mystery of Amy’s true nature, it functioned primarily as a buddy comedy built on the friction between its leads. Despite the pedigree of its cast—including Maggie Lawson and Kyle Bornheimer—the series faced an uphill battle on the CBS schedule. It was abruptly pulled after only five episodes aired, leaving the rest of the season for summer burn-off.
