Production Note - Limited Series

Extrapolations is a standalone limited anthology series that concluded its 8-episode run in April 2023. Developed by Scott Z. Burns for Apple TV+, the series was conceived as a sweeping, interconnected look at the effects of climate change over a thirty-three-year period. Its production scale was massive, featuring an ensemble cast of A-list stars and complex visual effects to depict a deteriorating world. Because the narrative was structured to span from the near future to a final legal reckoning for environmental crimes, the story reached its natural thematic and chronological end point.

The decision to frame the project as a limited series allowed the creators to explore disparate perspectives across the globe without the need for a recurring seasonal arc. Each episode functioned as a distinct chapter in a larger historical timeline, and the finale provided a definitive resolution to the overarching legal and moral questions posed at the start. With the timeline concluding in the year 2070, the production achieved its goal of illustrating a complete cautionary tale, leaving no plans for additional seasons or continuation.
