Production Note - Limited Series

Production Type: Limited Series

Extrapolations is a standalone Limited Series designed as a completed, finite historical narrative. The production was envisioned by creator Scott Z. Burns as a comprehensive anthology exploring the human impact of climate change across several decades of the future. By utilizing a massive ensemble cast and a chronological structure that jumps forward in time with each episode, the series was built to provide a holistic view of a changing world rather than following a traditional multi-season character arc.

The scale of the project was immense, requiring significant resources to depict various global environments and technological advancements through the year 2070. Because the narrative was specifically designed to trace the progression of environmental degradation to a thematic conclusion, the series functions as a self-contained work. Its status as a finite production allowed the creators to deliver a definitive message regarding the urgency of its subject matter within a singular, eight-episode framework.

Production Trivia: Created by Scott Z. Burns for Apple TV+, this eight-episode anthology series features an ensemble cast including Meryl Streep, Kit Harington, and Daveed Diggs, focusing on the effects of climate change across thirty-three years.
