No second season has been officially commissioned, as Jubilee was designed and released as a self-contained period drama series. Prime Video has not announced any renewal or sequel production.
Jubilee is a fictional story based on an original concept by Vikramaditya Motwane and Soumik Sen, with a screenplay written by Atul Sabharwal. However, the narrative is heavily inspired by real figures and true events from the golden age of Hindi cinema during the 1940s and 1950s. Characters like Srikant Roy, Sumitra Kumari, and Jamshed Khan draw parallels to historical figures such as Himanshu Rai, Devika Rani, and Najam-ul-Hassan of Bombay Talkies.
The series was primarily filmed in and around Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. The production team utilized elaborate studio sets built to recreate Bombay and Lucknow during the Partition era and post-independence decades. Location shoots also took place in heritage sites across Maharashtra to capture the architectural aesthetic of the 1940s and 1950s.
Jubilee consists of a total of ten episodes. The series was rolled out by Prime Video in two five-episode parts in April 2023. All ten episodes comprise the complete run of the story.
