No Escape is a standalone Limited Series designed as a completed, finite historical narrative. Developed for Paramount Plus, the production was conceived as a seven-part adaptation of Lucy Clarke's psychological thriller novel titled The Blue. The project was designed from its inception to cover the entirety of the source material, focusing on a self-contained mystery involving two friends who flee their lives in London only to encounter tragedy aboard a yacht in the Philippines.

The production scale involved extensive location filming in Thailand to replicate the Southeast Asian setting, emphasizing the isolation and tension required for the narrative arc. Because the series was written to resolve the central enigma regarding the vessel's disappearance and the fates of its passengers, it functions as a single-season event. This definitive structure allowed the showrunners to deliver a conclusive ending that aligned with the literary foundation, ensuring the story remained a finite experience for the audience.
