Production Note - Limited Series

Vampire in the Garden is a standalone Limited Series that concluded its 5-episode run in May 2022. Produced by the acclaimed Wit Studio, the project represents a high-concept original animation that prioritized cinematic quality over long-term serialization. The production was led by director Ryoutarou Makihara and character designer Tetsuya Nishio, focusing on a condensed narrative that explores the fragile coexistence between humans and vampires. Unlike many contemporary anime adaptations based on ongoing manga, this series was conceptualized as a complete journey with a specific thematic destination.

The story was intentionally designed with a definitive conclusion to preserve the emotional weight of its central tragedy. By structuring the series as a five-part odyssey, the creators were able to maintain a high level of visual fidelity and pacing that would be difficult to sustain in a multi-season format. The final episode provides a resolute ending to the search for Eden, effectively closing the book on Momo and Fine’s shared path. This finite approach ensures the artistic integrity of the work remains intact without the need for additional seasons or spin-offs.
