Frequently Asked Questions
The series was never officially cancelled, but it concluded after its initial ten-episode order without receiving a renewal from Channel 4 or Amazon Prime Video. High production costs and mixed viewership numbers compared to competing anthologies likely contributed to the decision to leave it as a limited series.
There is only one season of Electric Dreams, which consists of ten standalone episodes. Each episode is a self-contained adaptation of a Philip K. Dick short story, featuring a different cast and directorial team.
Currently, there are no credible rumors or official announcements regarding a reboot or a second season of the series. Most of the original production team and high-profile cast members have moved on to other long-term projects since the show ended in 2018.
There are no existing spin-offs or connected series within the Electric Dreams television franchise. While other works by Philip K. Dick have been adapted for television, they remain separate productions with no narrative or commercial ties to this specific anthology.
While both series are based on the works of author Philip K. Dick and were distributed by Amazon, they are not narratively related. Electric Dreams is an anthology of short stories, whereas The Man in the High Castle is a serialized adaptation of a single novel.
It is highly unlikely that a second season will be produced given the significant amount of time that has passed since the 2017 premiere. The show is now categorized by most streaming platforms and databases as a completed limited series.
