Frequently Asked Questions
The series was officially canceled because the manga creator, Rin Kokuyo, suffered from persistent health issues that prevented the story from continuing. In 2018, the publisher Comico confirmed that the manga would not return, leaving the anime without any further source material to adapt.
There is only one season of the anime, which consists of ten televised episodes. Additionally, a single OVA episode was released as an eleventh installment to provide a more complete conclusion to the animated run.
There are no credible rumors or official reports suggesting that a second season or a reboot is in production. Because the original manga was permanently discontinued by the publisher in 2018, there is no new content available for a studio to animate.
Currently, there are no official spin-offs, side stories, or movies associated with the series. The franchise remains limited to the original ten-episode season and the single OVA that followed its broadcast.
The series faced significant external pressure when director Kazuyoshi Yaginuma was involved in a controversy regarding anti-Semitic comments on social media. This situation, combined with the cancellation of the manga, effectively ended any possibility of the production team reuniting for future projects.
It is highly unlikely the manga will ever be finished as it was formally terminated by the publisher due to the author's declining health. No other writer or artist has been commissioned to complete the story, making the current ending the final one for the series.
