The franchise has consistently prioritized artistic depth over annual release cycles. After steering the later seasons of Adventure Time and the Distant Lands specials, Muto guided the mature spin-off through an extensive two-year production cycle before delivering its second season in late 2025. Animation greenlights each installment individually rather than through multi-season orders, delaying pre-production until post-release evaluations wrap.
