Frequently Asked Questions
Founder: Osman, known in Turkish as Kurulus: Osman, aired its series finale on ATV in June 2024 after five successful seasons. The series completed its planned narrative trajectory depicting the rise and establishment of the Ottoman state under Osman Ghazi.
The historical epic spans a total of five seasons and 164 feature-length Turkish broadcast episodes on ATV. In international syndication, where episodes are typically re-edited into shorter standard broadcast lengths, the total episode count exceeds 400 episodes.
The show concluded naturally as creator Mehmet Bozdag and network executives decided the central narrative arc of Osman I had achieved its historical culmination. The creative team reached the intended structural milestone of the Ottoman state's formation, leading to a planned ending rather than an unexpected cancellation.
Yes, Founder: Osman serves as the direct narrative sequel to the acclaimed hit series Resurrection: Ertugrul (Dirilis: Ertugrul), which chronicles the life of Osman's father. Both series share the same historical timeline, continuity, and production universe created by Bozdağ Film.
While rumors regularly circulate about a potential follow-up focusing on Osman's son Orhan Ghazi, production house Bozdağ Film has not formally launched a direct episodic continuation. Independent cinematic projects within the broader Seljuk and Ottoman universe have been developed by the studio, but no official revival featuring the original cast is currently in production.
International distribution rights are licensed across various regional streaming platforms, including OSN in the Middle East and specialized South Asian streaming services. Additionally, official subtitled clips and full episodes have historically been archived on the production company's verified YouTube channel.
